Fun with Fractions

Our focus is fractions.
What can you do with these fraction resources?

I gave the children a variety of fraction cards, number lines, spinners, bingo cards and fraction diskes.  I told them to explore and make up games.  They were hugely successful! We had a lot of fun making up games, sharing our ideas, and learning about fractions. Ask your child about the game they made up.

Our genre study of Nonfiction Text is well underway.  Each nonfiction text feature has a job.  As reader's we need to pay attention to these features as they will give us information about all kinds of topics.  We decided to create a news cast to share some of the text features that good readers use to understand nonfiction text. Read Across America

March has Arrived!

Dr. Seuss Day was a great way to kick of a new month.
Thank you Dr. Moore for reading to us!

Twin Day

Team Jordan earned a special reward. What started out as twin day turned into twins, quadruplets, and sextuplets day.  Everyone planned their outfits with care. The best thing that the children wore were their smiles!
This was the third outfit change for these happy twins.

Seven of a kind! Team Jordan's boys wore their Masco Red and white with pride.

Brrr. These twins wearing tank tops managed to stay warm.

This Patriotic pair are still smiling about the New England Patriot champions.

Happily sporting black and white these smiling twins are ready for anything.

These twins are happy to play basketball together and learn together.
These hugging twins decided on purple tops and matching heart necklaces.
Together everyone achieves more!  Even with all the snow days we still managed to get a lot done in the month of February.
